Ridley AgriProducts With background from NZ, I have seen a lot of quality pasture in my time. After seeing the Pichon Muck Runner spreader in action to efficiently distribute effluent onto pastures, it has resulted in some of the best growth rates and quality of pasture across a diverse range of properties and conditions. The ability to apply effluent directly into the ground where pastures utilise it most allows for the optimal benefits of an undervalued farm resource. At the end of the day, if you can grow more of your cheapest feed source, maximise quality and tackle a disposal issue, you have to be more profitable. The pasture sward is very green and I would expect to see the pastures protein and energy levels being higher than the average or untreated areas. Once again it comes back to the ability of the pasture to readily absorb the under-utilised nutrient source, effluent. I would fully stand by the Muck Runner effluent disposal system and believe that it plays a major influence on the quantity, quality and growth of pasture. The use of such a system to dispose of an otherwise underused, undervalued resource is the way of the future.
